The LUSU Team had a great day yesterday at the Disability Awareness Day (DAD) at Walton Hall & Gardens in Warrington.

The day wa sa huge success with such a range of sports and hobbies being demonstrated such as rowing, tennis, scuba diving, marshal arts, snooker, boxing and so many more.

The sense of being apart of something that makes a difference to peoples lives was overwhelming and to see so many people take part in all the activities on offer was lovely.

The day was a huge success. So many people attended and it was lovely chatting and hearing peoples stories and passion for wanting to be included in sports despite their disability and for them to see how many sports they can get involved in was truly lovely.

We would like to thsnk Cheshire LTA for organising this event for LUSU, it was lovely of you to invite us to a wonderful event.

What a fantastic day Sue has had today.

The students have had so much fun at the tennis zone experiencing playing tennis on grass courts.

The atmosphere of the Junior and Wheelchair Lexus British Open was electrifying and the tennis was fantastic.

Using the LUSU equipment, it really helped suport their success. It was truly an exciting day for all.

Sue is having a great day down in Wimbledon . Looks like the men’s singles is full swing, plus a light refreshment. ????

Thank you to Soul Padel for organising a court for a group of adults from Sense Supported Living to come along to try this new upcoming sport.

I really enjoyed delivering the session and seeing how their confidence grew throughout the session.

Thank you Jake from Sense, Jayne from Cheshire LTA and the all the Care staff for joining in with all the fun! ????????

Padel is such a great Inclusive accessible sport, with the use of the glass/cage, the in closed court and the smaller rackets.????????????

It was so lovely to hear that when the group were going, they were saying…. “that was so much fun and when can we come back”

What amazing day yesterday at the Sunrise to Sunset MacMillan Padel Charity Event, organised by the amazing Andrew Mcgeorge from Speedway Padel.

All the hard work that he put into organising the day really paid off as everyone had such a wonderful time having a go at Padel, trying out his speedway rackets and raising over £5000 for the charity.

It’s been really lovely to be invited by Community Integrated Care to provide a Wimbledon & Davis cup themed experience, via a What To Do / Zoom in the room for those who access Care & Support.

Today I went over to the the fabulous Seashell to deliver wheelchair tennis for a group of children and adults from Whizz Kidz.

What was so lovely, was that all the children & their families really enjoyed learning new tennis skills and playing with others….. everyone was involved at the same time, they were all very engaged and the enthusiasm for the game was electric!

What a lovely day at the Manchester Regional Arena. The sun was shining, lots of happy faces & enthusiasm as they enter into the Seashell & NATSPEC Sports Day organised by the brilliant Seashell Active Team. Over 200 North West Collage Students with a disability participated in some Tennis, High Jump, Athletics, Shot Putt, Rugby, Rowing & Boccia. Today it was an absolute pleasure to be invited to assist Frankie Rohan at the VI B1 GB training camp at Birchwood Leisure and Tennis Complex.

The standard of the players with no vision was phenomenal. ???????? They really enjoyed working on serve and return with direction.

It would be good if Sports Governing Bodies included some time assisting at events like these in their training/qualification so coaches get the full experience.

A HUGE thank you to Frankie, and to all the volunteers…Ben, Jayne Huxley-Grantham Pat, Philippa and Junko for their fantastic support . ????????????????????????
