South Yorkshire School Games

LUSU were invited to come and deliver the MATP (Motor Activity Training Programme) Come & Try session as part of the Yorkshire Sport, South Yorkshire Winter Games on Friday March 22nd.

The opening ceremony took place at the Indoor Athletics Arena and ended with a great Punjabi Dance session for everyone. The athletics represented Sheffield, Rotheram, Doncaster and Barnsley.

The MATP event started was a variety of group warm ups with music and then the athletes tried out the different activities, played with LUSUkit and explored the sensory table. It was a great opportunity to meet new teachers, teaching assistants and share ideas and inform them about the MATP pathway leading into the Special Olympics.

A fabulous end to a great and busy week of activity. Brilliant to see the smiles of the faces of everyone involved in the MATP room.
