Today starts my duties as GB coach for the first ever GB Visually Impaired Tennis Team competing in the first ever International Blind Tennis Tournament. Six players have been selected to travel to Spain (Alicante) to compete against 14 countries, 70 players.
I am extremely proud to have been selected as coach to assist the players whilst they complete in Spain. The tournament will last a week, and the format will see the players completing in many matches. This is a great opportunity to meet coaches & players from other countries and experience the standards of Blind Tennis in other countries, whilst exploring the coaching strategies of other countries.
The players hope to inspire the next generation, grow the sport’s visibility and bring back trophies.
